It seems as though the entire country is covered in snow and ice thanks to our dear pal, Jack Frost. The country stands divided. Half of the US is enchanted by the fluffy white flakes, while the other half of the US is safely tucked under their heated blankets while binge watching their favorite show. No matter your reaction, we urge our customers to safely prepare for the frigid temperatures, icy roads, and all that comes with a winter storm.

Snow Cyclone is such a harsh name; however, the week’s blizzard does live up to its moniker. Regal Limousines & Car Service would like to give our readers some tips as well as show some of our favorite winter weather accessories in order to brave this year’s first storm and prepare for the upcoming blizzards..

Road Safety

This weather is no joke. The roads are so dangerous that we must all take extra precautions. There is no need to rush. Take some additional time for travel as you should be driving slowly and carefully. Not only is the snow slippery, but there is black ice hidden in unexpected places.

Safety at Home

The cold often prompts us to resort to beloved space heaters and heated blankets. While it is nice to cozy up in the warmth, there are many possible dangers. First and foremost, be sure that the plugs are safely and securely in the sockets. Also, try to purchase products with an automatic turn off. If you do not have automatic turn off, please always remember to manually shut down all of your heaters. Heaters should be placed away from furniture, drapes, etc.

Excessive use of heaters can lead to dry skin and throats. Make sure that you are hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using moisturizer.

Take Care of Others

Check up on your neighbors. Many people need a little extra help during blizzards. Show a little love and make sure that your neighbors (especially elderly neighbors) are OK.

While you’re at it, show your pets a little extra TLC as the storms might frighten them.
